Did you gain skill with familiar materials?
During this project I was able to work on not only my painting skills but my CANVAS painting skills. It took me a little bit to get use to working vertically then on a flat table surface, but overall I enjoyed using it. I also was able to work on my brush, painting, and mixing skills. I'm really happy with the brush strokes and coloring in my piece.
Did you ask another student for feedback during your work process?
I'm really happy that Mrs. Rossi helped me out and gave me the idea to add something else to the painting other than a fruit bowl. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to add anything else, but now looking back on my work the painting definitely needed the flowers to help fill up the space. Mrs. Rossi also helped me out with the fruit bowl because I didn't know or understand how to be detailed without being detailed. My artist; Paul Gauguin, wasn't very detailed in his paintings but the viewer was able to understand what he was painting through his variety of shades and tints. Mrs. Rossi helped me understand that.
Did you use technology as a tool?
I used technology as a helpful tool during this project by searching up different pictures of flowers and vases. This helped me gather different ideas of what to paint and it helped me figure out what I wanted to showcase. The different pictures also helped me figure out what color(s) I wanted to use. I also used technology to search up some of my artists still life paintings. They gave me inspiration for my piece.
